1. Who these terms are with

Sole & Splay is operated by MadGrey LLC (https://madgreyllc.com), referred to below as “we” and “us”. By using this site you accept these terms. If you do not accept them, please do not use the site.

2. This is not medical advice

Nothing on this site is medical advice, a diagnosis, or a treatment plan. We are not podiatrists, physicians, physical therapists or pedorthists and we do not hold any clinical qualification. Footwear affects the body, and changing footwear — particularly to a zero-drop, minimally cushioned shoe — can cause injury if done too quickly or if it is wrong for your particular feet.

If you have foot, ankle, knee, hip or back pain, a diagnosed condition, diabetes or any loss of sensation in your feet, a history of stress fracture, or you are recovering from an injury or surgery, consult a qualified healthcare professional before changing your footwear. Where we describe research, we are reporting published findings, not prescribing anything. You are responsible for decisions you make about your own body.

3. What our recommendations are based on

We select products from published manufacturer specifications, brand sizing data and independent fit research, and we cite our sources on each page. We do not wear-test the products we recommend. We make no representation that a shoe will fit you, feel a particular way, or last a particular length of time. Our editorial policy sets out the method in full.

4. Accuracy, specifications and prices

Manufacturers change specifications, re-last shoes between seasons and discontinue models without notice. Specifications quoted here are those published by the maker or retailer at the time of writing and may be out of date by the time you read them. Always check the current listing before buying.

We publish no prices of our own. Prices and availability are the retailer’s and change constantly. Where a price appears anywhere on this site it is shown with the date it was verified, and if it cannot be verified it is not shown at all.

5. Affiliate links

This site earns commission from qualifying purchases made through links on it, at no extra cost to you. Full detail, including which links earn nothing, is in the affiliate disclosure.

6. We are not the seller

We sell nothing. Every purchase is a contract between you and the retailer. Orders, payment, shipping, returns, warranties and product defects are entirely matters for that retailer, and we have no ability to help with them. We are not responsible for the content, terms or privacy practices of any site we link to.

7. Intellectual property

The text, structure, ratings and original research on this site are the property of MadGrey LLC. You may quote short extracts with a visible credit and a link to the page quoted. You may not republish substantial portions, or use the content to train a commercial model that reproduces it, without written permission.

Brand names, model names and logos belong to their respective owners and are used here for identification and commentary only. No endorsement by any brand is implied. Photographs are either licensed or used under the terms stated on our image credits page.

The site is provided on an as-is basis. To the fullest extent permitted by law, we exclude liability for any indirect or consequential loss, and for any injury, loss or damage arising from your use of the information on this site or from any product you buy after reading it. Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

We make no guarantee that the site will be available without interruption, or that it will be free of errors. We may change, move or remove any page at any time.

10. Governing law and changes

These terms are governed by the laws of the United States and of the state in which MadGrey LLC is established, without regard to conflict-of-law rules. If we change these terms materially we will update the date at the top of this page.
