Privacy policy
This is a publication, not a platform. There are no accounts, no logins and nothing to sell, so there is very little to say here — but what there is, is said plainly.

What we collect
If you only read the site
We collect no personal information from you directly. There is no account to create, no newsletter popup, and no form you have to fill in to read anything.
If you contact us
Our contact form asks for your name, your email address, a topic and your message. We use those only to reply to you. They are delivered to our own inbox by email and are not added to any mailing list, not used for marketing, and not shared with anyone. We keep correspondence only as long as it is useful — typically until the question is resolved, or longer where it records a correction we made to the site.
The form includes two anti-spam checks: a hidden field that only automated submitters fill in, and a timestamp recording when the page loaded so that submissions arriving in milliseconds can be rejected. Neither identifies you and neither is stored. We also apply a short-term per-address submission limit, held in memory only.
Analytics
We use Google Analytics 4 to understand which pages people find useful. It records things like the pages you view, roughly where in the world you are, your device type and how you arrived. We have no interest in identifying individuals and we do not attempt to.
Google Analytics sets its own cookies and is a third-party processor; its handling of that data is governed by Google’s privacy policy. If you would rather not be measured at all, Google publishes a browser opt-out add-on, and most browsers’ tracking-protection settings block it too. Nothing on this site breaks if you block analytics.
Affiliate links
Our product links pass through a redirect on this domain (a /go/ path) which attaches the retailer’s tracking parameter and forwards you to the retailer. That redirect sets no cookie of its own and records nothing about you personally.
Once you arrive at the retailer, that retailer — principally Amazon — may set its own cookies to attribute a purchase to us. That is how the commission works and it is governed by their privacy policy, not ours. We never see your order, your payment details or your address. We see only an aggregate count of qualifying purchases. See the affiliate disclosure.
Hosting and server logs
The site is hosted on Vercel, which keeps standard operational logs (IP address, user agent, requested URL, timestamp) for security and performance purposes. We do not mine those logs and we do not combine them with anything else.
What we never do
- We do not sell or rent your personal information. Ever.
- We do not run advertising networks or retargeting pixels.
- We do not add you to a mailing list because you contacted us.
- We do not ask children for personal information. This site is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect anything from them.
Your rights
Depending on where you live, you may have the right to ask what personal data we hold about you, to have it corrected, or to have it deleted — and to ask that it not be sold or shared, which is straightforward here because we never do either. Email contact@soleandsplay.com and we will act on it. In practice the only personal data we are likely to hold is an email conversation you started.
Changes
If this policy changes materially we will update the date at the top of this page. We will not quietly broaden what we collect.
